Breathe’s 10th BIRTHDAY!!

Back in the day when we set up Breathe – ten years ago this week – Facebook was a year away from launch, tablets were something we swallowed when we were sick, and we all thought that ‘tweeting’ was strictly for the birds. It was a very different world.

Today, we take technology for granted; we use social media on a daily basis, and we understand the importance of search engine optimisation (SEO) for attracting visitors to our website. In this predominantly digital era, few of us now use film in our cameras; we read books, listen to music and watch TV on our iPads; we conduct meetings and make presentations online.

Ours is a society in which millions are clamouring for attention; 72 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute; suddenly, everybody’s an instant expert, posting reviews of what we’ve just read or where we’ve eaten.

It’s a fast-paced, complex world, even for experienced marketing professionals. One of the current hot topics is content marketing – the creation of content and supply of relevant and valuable information to attract, acquire and engage a clearly defined and understood target audience.

And yet, how much has really changed? I’ll let you into a little secret.
